As a long-time resident of Milton and entrepreneur, it was an honour being nominated as Milton’s first Federal Liberal candidate in 2015. My political aspirations began many years ago, but I finally decided to run after being encouraged to do so by riding residents and stakeholders. The unwavering support from the community before, during and after my nomination has further encouraged me to press toward the 2019 LPC nomination for my home riding. I continue to support our Prime Minister, RT Hon. Justin Trudeau’s belief that politics should be positive, optimistic and hopeful.
It was the tremendous grassroots efforts that resulted in a very close race with the incumbent in 2015. The vote margin was closed from over 24,000 in 2011 to just over 2000. Today, I remain passionate about building a better community for all families in Milton.
This is not about politics. It’s about leadership. It’s about putting political differences aside and having a common agenda. As Milton’s federal representative, I will create a regular meeting of political stakeholders involving the mayor, area councillors and MPPs. This will help every level of government to find common ground regardless of their political affiliations to make the lives of their constituents better.
Along with national policy matters such as the economy, immigration and foreign relations with trade partners, I will continue to put Milton first when it comes to healthcare, education and transit. As a Milton resident and businessman, I understand the needs of our Town. I will continue to work diligently so our community understands that a Liberal victory is a clear choice to help meet the needs of Milton today and in the future.
